Introduction
This website will describe the travel and tourism components industries and provides examples of outbound, inbound and domestic organisation within them. There are a range of pages throughout this site and some including subpages such as; Accommodation, Transport (road, rail, sea and air), Visitor Attractions (built, heritage, event based and natural), Tour operations, Travel agents (Retail, Business, Web-based/Online and Call centre), Tourism development and promotion, Trade associations and regulatory and Ancillary services.
Reasons to travel-
There are different reasons to travel some people travel for leisure, business and VFR.
Leisure- Usually leisure travel is for families or friends and there are several reasons why people travel for leisure for example it can be a time for recreation after a stressful period and work/education or it can be a complete opposite and travelling for health such as drugs or even plastic surgery. Many people travel for religious reasons an example of this would be the Tajmahal.
Business- Business travel is mostly for meetings or different types of jobs overseas, they are usually for long weeks or can last up to a few years depending on the type of job description.
VFR- VFR stands for visiting friends and relatives. This can be a day trip such as domestic travel or can be a short or long trip to other countries abroad.

Domestic- Domestic travel is UK residents taking trips or holidays in the UK, an example of this would be a family trip for a long weekend to Wales to visit family.
Inbound- Inbound travel is when overseas visitors visit the UK for a holiday or small trip, for example a couple from America come back to the UK to visit family.
Outbound- Outbound travel is when UK residents take trips or holidays outside the UK such as two friends travelling from Scotland to Ibiza for a two week leisure holiday.
